Membership Guidelines & Code of Conduct

PTMAA is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and legal compliance. Our guidelines ensure the integrity of our practice and the safety of the public. All members are expected to adhere to the following principles.

General Membership Guidelines
  • Membership is open to qualified Thai massage practitioners who demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of PTMAA.
  • Members must comply with all relevant Australian laws and regulations governing health and wellness practices.
  • Members are required to maintain an active membership status by making timely payments of fees and adhering to association rules.
  • Membership may be suspended or revoked in cases of misconduct, malpractice, or breach of guidelines.
  • Members must provide services with professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Members shall not engage in misconduct, exploitation, or any activity that may harm the reputation of PTMAA.
  • Client confidentiality must always be upheld in accordance with privacy laws.
  • Members must always prioritise client health, safety, and well-being.
  • Members must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and accountability in their practice.
  • Members must refrain from discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, or background.
  • Members must maintain professionalism at all times, in and out of the workplace.
  • Members must avoid conflicts of interest that could jeopardise their professional duties.
  • Members must operate in compliance with Australian workplace, health, safety, and taxation laws.
  • Proper licensing, insurance, and registration must be maintained at all times.
  • Members shall maintain accurate and lawful financial records.
  • Unlawful or unethical business practices are strictly prohibited.
  • Members shall uphold and promote the heritage of Thai massage with respect and integrity.
  • PTMAA encourages members to participate in community activities that promote Thai culture and wellness.
  • Members are expected to always serve as professional and respectful ambassadors of Thai massage.
  • Collaboration with local and international communities is encouraged.
  • Complaints against members must be submitted in writing to PTMAA for formal review.
  • An impartial investigation process will be conducted in cases of alleged misconduct.
  • Members found in violation of these guidelines may face disciplinary actions, including suspension or termination of membership.
  • Appeals may be submitted to the PTMAA executive committee for reconsideration.
  • These guidelines shall be reviewed periodically to ensure relevance and compliance with Australian standards.
  • All amendments require approval from the PTMAA executive committee prior to implementation.
  • Members will be notified of changes in a timely manner.
